Can Mezcal Save A Village? …I think so!

Mezcal is a distilled beverage made from the Maguey Plant. There is a saying attributed to Oaxaca regarding the drink: “para todo mal, mezcal, y para todo bien también” (“for everything bad, mezcal; for everything good, the same”).

Listen to this broadcast,

NPR, ran this Episode: Can Mezcal Save A Village?

There’s a line in  the broadcast which struck me, ” rather than using Mezcal to soothe the pains of poverty. These two cousins in Oaxaca are using Mezcal to pull out of poverty”….and the good news is…..it’s working!!
